A Meet-and-Greet session will be held
Friday evening, starting at 7:00 PM, in the Main Auditorium of Exley
Science Center. There will be a Keynote Address by Angelo Iafrate,
President of the American Association of Woodturners, and one of our
featured demonstrators. Each of the featured demonstrators will speak
briefly about his or her rotations. The Registration Desk will be open
at this time for those that wish to avoid the rush Saturday morning.
Instant Gallery
Symposium attendees are welcome to
display up to three pieces in the Instant Gallery. These pieces are
placed at the owner’s risk. Yankee Woodturning Symposium will
assume no liability for loss or damage. These pieces may be for sale.
Any such arrangements are to be conducted directly between the buyer
and seller. There is no commission to the symposium. Instant Gallery
participants will be required to fill out an information card for each
piece. The Instant Gallery is open to the public at no charge.
Drawing, Door Prize and Silent Auction
Door Prize for mini lathe:
Everyone turning in their evaluation of the symposium will be given one
coupon for the door prize of a mini lathe (a Jet or equivalent).
Evaluations will be turned in Sunday during lunch. At the
conclusion of lunch, one (1) coupon will be drawn for the mini
lathe. If other door prizes are available, they will be given out
also.
Drawing:
The drawing items will be out for inspection beginning Saturday morning
and through the end of the 3rd rotation on Sunday. The drawing
items will be those donated by the vendors and anyone else that would
like to donate items. All persons donating items will be
recognized for their donation.
There will be a jar to place your
coupons next to each item in the drawing. The more coupons you place in
the jar for the items you want the better chance you will have to
win. Sunday, at the end of the break between the 3rd and 4th
rotation, the committee will pick a winning coupon from each jar.
A list of winning numbers will be circulated and posted at the drawing
tables during the 4th rotations. Winning items will be picked up
at the end of the 4th rotation.
Coupon prices will be posted at the registration desk. Coupons can be purchased with cash or check only.
Silent Auction:
A silent auction of signature items contributed by the demonstrators
will be held. Each demonstrator will be asked to provide at
least 1 signature item to the silent auction.
Items in the silent auction will be
displayed in the Instant Gallery. Cut off time for bidding will
be posted with the items. All items must be paid for by the end
of the symposium with check or cash. Sorry, no credit cards.
